BRIEF
An identity design for a group exhibition by the MA Communication Design students of Falmouth University.
Using information experience design, students were asked to use
data to describe facets of what it means to be (brilliantly, confoundingly, disappointingly. shamefully, wonderfully...) human, today.
For this show, focus was brought to several, often overlooked, human truths within our modern society. To celebrate and investigate this, the group show was titled Human(?) to explore aspects of human lives through researched data points.
The key concept was to use a question mark that acts as a superscript – used as a playful element to adapt to the various words and variations that go along with the larger roster of words that connect with human.

A mood board to define a visual language

A brand identity was defined. That included the creation
of versatile assets that were adapted to both analog and
digital spaces. The visual language was inspired from
glitchy, pixelated components to create a playful
relationship between humans, technology and media.

Catalogues were created as 3 types/levels. Level 1 explained the project in the most simple
manner whereas level 3 explained them as detailed descriptions for those audiences that do enjoy
reading exhibition pamphlets. With the use of simple origami we were also able to convert the
catalogue into a poster.
